William and Normatter formed Normatter Construction. Taking on a traditionally male-dominated space, they faced many doubters with a female leading the company. Undaunted, Normatter took on her role as the company's bookkeeper, while she and William sought customers for services such as brickwork, home renovations, painting, roofing, plastering, plumbing and electrical work and compliance. With limited resources the company began as a home-based start-up with all focus being placed on securing new business. This was a challenging time for the determined duo. Building a client base
